Welcome

Welcome to the Scottish Group of the McCarrison Society!

We are an organisation that was set up in Scotland in 1981 to encourage the spread of knowledge about the supreme importance of the links between nutrition and the promotion of health and the prevention of disease. Our Society is named after a pioneer researcher, Sir Robert McCarrison, who carried out nutritional research in India before the Second World War. He was able to demonstrate conclusively that the quality of the food consumed was directly linked to the health of the individual eating that food.

This web site has been set up to give both the independent nutrition researcher and the interested member of the public, the opportunity to look at research which is free from economic or political bias. Our site is linked to our parent Society which has further extensive information to explore.

We hope that you will find the information well presented and easy to access as well as being of interest.

Cedric de Voil, Chairperson
